Past the chancel in the apse is the sanctuary. It is on the altar that the priest blesses the bread and wine. The priest entered the sanctuary through the separate priest's door in the south wall.

The brightly coloured window behind the altar is of slab glass material and dates from 1972. Some of the interesting features in this area include the Nevill monument, and the double piscina.
